Does the nightmare of abuse ever change?
Is it really possible to live for years with constant threats from parents and later by your spouse?
Is it possible to be called terrible names throughout childhood and later develop a healthy self-esteem? Is it possible to be physically beaten by someone you love and later develop a capacity for intimacy?
Is it possible to be sexually violated and later feel secure in loving relationships?
Is it possible to recover from abuse?

Fortunately the answer is yes. Many people can testify that recovery is possible. Yes, the broken pieces of your life can be put together again.
Most abuse happens in the family. The one place that should be a safe place is for many a place of terror. The hands or voices that was needed for guidance and nurture are used instead to harm, confuse and destroy. Abusive words and deeds are not, however limited to the family. Teachers, pastors, counsellors, employers, supervisors a husbands wife and others in positions of power may be abusive to those who look to them for help.

Some of you have experience abuse that is violent – verbally, physically or sexually. Less overt forms of abuse is ridicule, shaming, neglect, rejection and controlling but no matter what form it takes the impact of abuse can be profound. Abuse can shatter a person’s identity and destroy the ability to trust. It can lead to isolation depression, low self- esteem and helplessness.

If you fall in any of these categories or if you have any other emotional pain caused by whatever nightmare in you life and you would like to share it with one of our counsellors please contact us. You could either write or e-mail us. We will counsel you via e-mail or land mail, depends what would be appropriate. We understand the disappointment of confidence being scattered when your counsellor or intercessor spilled the beans all over town. I want to assure you of our utter secrecy in this matter. Web counselling is a new concept in ministry and we rely totally on the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This is only the beginning. The vision is to do counselling in as much chat rooms as possible. Part of this vision is to have a place full of computers and a network of people all over the world that will take hands and work together through Internet.
